Do Fat Burner Pills Work?

Most of the questions about fat burner pills that people ask on a continuous basis could be summed up in a sentence something like this: "Do weight loss pills really work and what's your view on them? They contain an awful lot of caffeine. Used as part of a healthy diet they are meant to work but I am not sure it is worth the money"
Let's cover a few of the facts.
So lying does happen in the supplement industry.
As far as the results you can get go, things should be put in perspective as to just how much they actually help you.
If you had four ways that were guaranteed to help you lose 12 pounds this month and one that could possibly help you lose a small fraction of that, which would you want to know about most?
In addition, the one that would possibly help you lose the smallest amount of weight will cost you about $45 for a 20 day supply while the other four are free?
Where would you want to spend your time and save your money?
So what are the possible benefits of fat burners and other similar supplements?
Possibly the real strength of most fat burners and weight loss pills is in the temporary effect it has on your energy levels and how that little bit of extra pep may effect your workouts.
The high caffeine content will obviously give you a boost on days when energy or motivation is low. Some of the other "wonder ingredients" in the fat loss pills can help speed up your metabolism and help you burn more calories but you have to keep in mind that it's not a pound of weight loss a day. It's about the same amount of calories you'd burn raking leaves for 15 minutes. Somewhere in the 75 calories range.
Some think it's great to be able to burn 75 calories without lifting a finger for that extra burn. But what if you spend that energy going for a quick walk or shovelling the sidewalk? Or what if you spent those extra calories by spending 5 minutes working towards your goal of finally getting 10 real full push ups that you've never been able to do before?
You'd be getting more fit and burning calories. Two great things at once.
So in the end, providing that the fat burner pills actually have what they say they have in them, they are a pick me up at best.
Something to give you a boost in energy like a couple of cups of black coffee with a slightly extra daily calorie burn. Perhaps some of the fancy proprietary blends may do a miniscule of extra burning for you. Let's face the facts though. If the supplement simply burned the weight off you, then the FDA would make it require a prescription.
If you concentrated on training, proper nutrition, motivation and intensity, then no fat burner supplement or weight loss pill could even come close to the results that you would see.
